本课程是高分子材料与工程、材料科学与工程、功能材料、高分子材料与工程（精英班）专业的必修课。课程遵循教书育人和立德树人的指导思想，通过精心的教学设计和丰富的教学手段，旨在实现培养具有社会责任感和国际化视野的高素质人才的教育目标。课程选用原版专业教材，采用中英双语，以材料的制备-结构-性能-应用为主线，介绍材料结构与分类、材料性能、金属材料、陶瓷材料、聚合物材料、复合材料和生物材料的基本概念和基础理论。利用MOOC资源和北化在线平台资源与课堂教学结合的方式开展线上线下混合式教学；课堂内外与学生实时互动；过程性课程评价方法；全方位培养和训练学生对所学材料基础知识的掌握与应用能力；利用现代化手段获取资料文献跟踪材料科学与工程前沿发展现状的能力；本学科领域专业英语应用能力和团队合作意识等。 This course is a required course for Polymer Materials and Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Functional Materials, Polymer Materials and Engineering (elite class).The course follows the guiding ideology of teaching and moral education. Through careful teaching design and rich teaching means, it aims to realize the educational goal of cultivating high-quality talents with a sense of social responsibility and international vision.This course uses the original professional textbooks and bilingual teaching in Chinese and English, takes the preparation - structure - performance - application of materials as the main line to introduce the basic concepts and theories of material structure and classification, material properties, metallic materials, ceramic materials, polymeric materials, composite materials and biological materials.The teaching method is a mixture of online and offline teaching with MOOC resources and classroom teaching，real-time interaction with students inside and outside the classroom and process course evaluation method. The aims of the course are to cultivate and train students' ability in all-round way to master and apply the basic knowledge of the materials, to use modern means to obtain data and documents, to track the frontier development of materials science and engineering , to apply professional English in the subject area and teamwork spirit.
