本课程系统梳理并讲解美国文学发展的主脉，涵盖美国从殖民时期的文学到20世纪的现代文学作品。这门课程不仅概览各阶段代表作家作品，并且统领各个时期主要文学流派和当代思想，以及这些思潮如何成为主要作家所关注的焦点和主题。 This course systematically introduces the general development of the American literature. It covers a whole range of the literary history of America from the colonial period to the 20th century, not only offering a brief account of major authors and their masterpieces, but also grasping major literary schools and zeitgeists which dominated America during different periods, and students will also explore how these thoughts and movements transform the thematic or formal concern of some major authors in their literary endeavors.
